〈Yokokawa start〉“The Abandoned Railway Walk” – A journey across prefectural borders along the historic remains of the Usui Line from Yokokawa to Karuizawa Station.

This event will be a walk along the historical remains of the Usui Line. It includes a view of the beautiful Megane Bridge and a lunch of kama-meshi (rice cooked in a kettle). The walk will pass through a total of 18 tunnels and cross the prefectural border to the beautiful resort town of Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture, a distance of 11.2 km.

*Except on the day of the Abandoned Train Line Walk, you will not be allowed to enter the Shinetsu Main Line (lower line).

Clothing: Light hiking clothes.
Equipment: light, helmet, gloves (if you do not have these, please rent them).

11:10 Arrive at Yuno no yu (local hot spring) (50 min break)
12:00 Start walking along the Shinetsu Line (lower line)
14:00 Arrive at Kumonodaira Staiton (10 min lunch break)
14:15 Start walking along the Shinetsu Line (lower line)
16:00 Arrive at Karuizawa Station goal, walk around
16:30 Get on Karuizawa Station
