“The Abandoned Railway Walk” – A journey across prefectural borders along the historic remains of the Usui Line from Yokokawa to Karuizawa Station.

This event includes walking across the beautiful Meganebashi Bridge along the historic remains of the Usui Line and eating a kamameshi (hot pot) lunch at the former Kumanodaira Station. Passing through all 25 railway tunnels and covering 11.2km, this walk crosses prefectural borders and ends at the beautiful resort city of Karuizawa in Nagano Prefecture.

*The Shinetsu Line (lower line) cannot be entered except on the day of the Abadoned Railway Walk.

Attire: Light hiking clothes.
Equipment: Light, helmet, gloves (Rental options are available in case you don’t have these items)
